Factory Junction Lifting Bridge (Tipton)

This bridge was originally located in Tipton, and is now located at the Black Country Living Museum, near Tipton.

It was built by Armstrongs and Main in 1922. 28 ft span. The deck is balanced by a pair of 5-ton counterweights suspended by chains running over pulleys, and raised and lowered manually by a system of shafts and gears. Source of information, and photo, here.
