18th century: Worked in South Wales on the construction of canals, tram roads, and other works.

1835 October. Death of E. Hopkins, age 89, of Tyrnanthir, near Swansea, Civil Engineer and Mineral Surveyor, the father of Roger Hopkins of Plymouth, Civil Engineer.[1] [2]
