ERNEST SERA MASLIN died at Liege on May 8, 1930, at the age of fifty-four.
He was born in Swindon, and first commenced his career as apprentice in the works of the Great Western Railway, joining the inspection staff at the end of his apprenticeship.
He later joined the staff of the Queensland Government, for whom he carried out work in the United States and on the Continent, and he subsequently occupied positions of importance with the Admiralty.
After the war he went to Liege, where he set up in practice as an inspecting and consulting engineer.
He was a member of the Iron and Steel Institute, an Associate Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, and an Original Member of the Institution of Engineering Inspection. Mr. Maslin was elected a Member of the Institute of Metals on December 15, 1926.— E. W. LOTT.
