1902 Married at Coventry to Alice Maud May Knight

107 Won the 1907 Tourist Trophy Race in a Rover

1911 Living at 46 Somerville Road, Small Heath, Birmingham: Ernest Courtis (age 35 born London), Engineers Fitter - Motor Car - Own Account. With his wife Alice Courtis (age 33 born Coventry) and their two children Norman Courtis (age 6 born Coventry) and Edith Courtis (age 4 months born Birmingham).[1]

1911 April. Letter in which he recalls working for E. J. Pennington and describes some of the motors they made. Signs as 1907 Tourist Trophy winner.[2]
