A lighting system employing surfaces under which positive and negative conductors, composed of a large number of fine wires, are interlaced while being insulated from each other. Incandescent lamps with their terminals consisting of spikes are thrust into these surfaces, and the spikes, penetrating through to the conductors, allow current to pass to the filaments of the lamps.
