1841 Edward Joy 50, oil merchant, lived in West Leeds, with Ruth Joy 40, Walker Joy 14, William L Joy 12, George Joy 10, Samuel Joy 8, Edward Joy Junior 3[4]

1862 Died in Hammersmith; his executors included David Joy of Manchester, civil engineer, and Walker Joy, oil merchant of Leeds[5]
