Edward Barlow (c1821- ), of Dobson and Barlow

c.1821 Born in Little Bolton, son of Robert and Grace Barlow, banker[1]

1851 Master machine maker, employing in engineering (?) with partners 1200 hands, living in Little Bolton[2]

1860 Patent to Edward Barlow, of the firm of Messrs. Dobson and Barlow, Machine Makers, of Bolton- le-Moors, in the county of Lancaster, and Francis Hamilton, of the same place, Manager, have given the like notice in respect of the invention of " certain improvements in carding engines."[3]

1863 Edward Barlow, of Dobson and Barlow, Engineers and Machine Makers, Bolton, joined I Mec E.[4]

1867 Resigned from I Mech E.

1868 An Edward Barlow, born 1821, died in Bolton[5]
