This is a small bridge, built in 1831 by the Edinburgh and Dalkeith Railway to carry horse-drawn wagons over the Braid Burn. See here for a sketch and more information.

The bridge has four small cast iron beams with bowed upper flanges, cast by the Shotts Iron Co.
