Born the son of James Stiff

1861 Living at 7 Stockwell Road?, Lambeth: James Stiff (age 32 born Rougham), Potter, 72 men, 40 boys. With his wife Sarah T. Stiff (age 58 born Holborn) and their three children; William Stiff (age 23 born Lambeth); Ebenezer Stiff (age 20 born Lambeth); and Mary A. Stiff (age 18 born Lambeth). Two servants.[1]

1891 Living at Ivanhoe, Windmill Place, Clapham: Ebenezer Stiff (age 50 born Lambeth), Earthenware Manufacturer - Employer. With his wife Alice Stiff (age 48 born Padiham, Lancs.) and their five children; Edith Sarah Stiff (age 22 born Lambeth); Winifred H. Stiff (age 21 born Lambeth); James A. Stiff (age 19 born Lambeth); Harold H. Stiff (age 17 born Lambeth); and William F. Stiff (age 16 born Lambeth). Also a visitor. Three servants.[2]
