Clockmaker

An 1810 double-faced mill clock from Park Green Mill is on display at Manchester's Museum of Science and Industry. One face showed normal time, while the other was connected to the water wheel, such that it only registered productive 'mill time'. Workers could only leave on completion of their mill time.
