1872 The Dipton Gasworks were built, privately owned. They supplied a small area of Annfield Plain.

1907 This gasworks and the one at West Kyo were formed into the Annfield Plain and District Gas Co.

1949 Vested in the Northern Gas Board.

c.1951 Closed but retained until 1960.
