Delhi-Umballa-Kalka Railway (DUK) also known as the Delhi-Ambala-Kalka Railway

1889 January 25th. Company registered.

1891 March 1st. Complete section of 161.4 miles opened

1892 Maintenance transferred to the East Indian Railway

1898 June 29th. Contracted to build the Kalka-Simla Railway

1899 Total railway is 162 miles. William McFarlane, Secretary; W. D. Bruce, Consulting Engineer.[1]

1904 Shareholder meeting was presided over by Colonel A. J. Filgate, R.E.[2]

1910 Total railway is 162 miles. A branch line from Thanesar to Kaithal, a distance of 30 miles was opened 1910. C. E. Rutter, Secretary.[3]

1918 Total railway is 232 miles. Officers. E. A. Neville, Secretary.[4]
