1805 Born in Sheffield, son of William and Hannah Flather[1]

Formed partnership with Henry Brown as Brown and Flather

1841 David Flather 35, maker of joiner's tools, lived in Solly Street, Sheffield North with Mary 35, John 10, Walter 5, Sarah 5, William 3, Charles 1[2], next door to Henry Brown 35, maker of joiner's tools; James Flather, warehouseman, lived close by in Red Hill.

1850 The partnership of Brown and Flather was dissolved; the business was continued as David Flather.

1851 David Flather 46, joiner's tool manufacturer, lived in Sheffield with Mary Flather 46, John Flather 20, assistant joiner's tool manufacturer, Walter Flather 17, assistant joiner's tool manufacturer, Sarah Flather 15, William T Flather 13, Martha Flather 8[3]

1871 David Flather 66 joiner's tool manufacturer, lived in Sheffield with Mary Flather 66[4]

1873 A joiner's edge tool and steel manufacturer[5], died in Sheffield[6]
