1915 Obituary [1]

DANIEL JONES HIRST died on May 15, 1915, at Barrow-in-Furness.

Upon leaving school he entered the Dowlais Ironworks, of which his father, the late Mr. Thomas Hirst, was mill manager.

For the past twelve years he had been associated with the Barrow Hematite Steel Co., Ltd.

He was elected a member of the Iron and Steel Institute in 1886.
