1979 (?) The marine engine business of Hawthorn, Leslie and Co was merged with George Clark and N. E. M., both owned by British Shipbuilders, to form Clark Hawthorn.

1978 Merged with John G. Kincaid and Co to form Clark Kincaid which became Kvaerner Kincaid in 1990.
