CHRISTOPHER PARNABY died at Blackhill on February 21, 1902, aged fifty-seven years. He went to work at the [[Consett Iron Co|Consett Ironworks]] between eight and nine years of age, and gradually rose until he attained the position of manager. When the Consett Company laid down their steel angle plant about seventeen years ago, he was entrusted with the management of that department, as well as with the control over the plate mills. He often represented the Consett Iron Company on the Board of Conciliation and Arbitration, and was well known in iron and steel making centres at home and abroad. His varied experience was often brought to bear on the settlement of intricate disputes between employer and employed in the North of England, and he was regarded as one of the most practical men in the trade. | |||

CHRISTOPHER PARNABY died at Blackhill on February 21, 1902, aged fifty-seven years. He went to work at the Consett Ironworks between eight and nine years of age, and gradually rose until he attained the position of manager.
