CHARLES VAUGHAN SANDEMAN, born at Church, Accrington, on the 14th January, 1883, was killed in action in France on the 4th July, 1916.
He was engaged for several years under Mr. Charles Chadwell on light railway and other work in Lancashire, and on the Derwent Valley Waterworks under his uncle, Mr. E. Sandeman, M. Inst. C.E. In January, 1913, he was appointed Assistant Engineer in the Public Works Department of Uganda, and, on his leave falling due in 1916, returned to England to take up a commission in the Royal Engineers, proceeding to France in June.
He was elected an Associate Member on the 2nd February, 1909.
