1856 With Henry Daniel Pontifex carried on the business as Coppersmiths and Back and Vat Manufacturers, in Shoe lane, in the city of London[3] which later became known as Henry Pontifex and Sons
1863 Vat and back maker and refrigerator manufacturer gained a patent on improvements in the construction of sluices and other valves and cocks, and on means of connecting them with flexible hoses[4]
1871 Vat and back maker, coppersmith and brass finisher, living in Islington with Harriet Pontifex 57, George Pontifex 27, Julia Pontifex 26, Ernest Pontifex 24, Emily Pontifex 21, Alice Pontifex 17[5]
1876 of 154 St Paul's Road, Islington when he died; his executors were Alfred Pontifex of Northampton Grove, vat and back maker, and George Pontifex, of 154 St Paul's Road, gentleman [6]
