Apprenticeship: West's Gas Improvement Co., Ltd., at Albion Iron Works, Miles Platting, Manchester, subsequently on erection work for same firm at Milan, Croydon, and St. Helens. Professional Career: Assistant to Engineer of Shrewsbury Gas Light Co., subsequently appointed Engineer, Manager and Secretary of the Shrewsbury Gas Light Co. (present position). Chief Works: Experimental work on Glover-West vertical retorts at St. Helens. Remodelling portion of old Gasworks, Shrewsbury.
