Pupil under G. D. Dempsey and W. Dempsey for 7 years; then worked as assistant to W. Dempsey.

For 2.5 years in charge of the civil engineering for Messrs Westwood Baillie, constructing roofs, bridges, etc, before setting up on his own account[1]

1861 Married in Kensington [2]

1864 of Great George St, London; elected to Inst Civil Engineers[3]

1871 Civil Engineer, living in Lewisham with his wife R H Light 34[4]

1873 Presented a paper on "On a New Method of Setting Out the Slopes of Earth works" at the Society of Engineers[5]

1881 Charles Julian Light, civil engineer, 48 and Rose Hebron Light 44 lived in Pancras, London[6]

1911 Retired civil engineer, living in Weston super Mare[7]

1911 Died in Weston super Mare[8]
