CHARLES HEATON was managing director for Messrs. William Hunt and Sons, tool manufacturers, of Birmingham, with whom the whole of his engineering career had been connected.
He was educated at Clifton College and served his apprenticeship with the firm on leaving school. He was instrumental in introducing improvements in the method of manufacture of many of the firm's products, and in particular made a study of hardening and tempering.
He had been a Member of the Institution since 1897.
He was born in Birmingham in 1864 and died on 29th May 1932.
