CHARLES EDWARD CAMPBELL, born at Bootle, on the 4th December, 1875, died at Liscard, Cheshire, on the 23rd February, 1916.
After serving his apprenticeship with Messrs. John Jones and Son, Liverpool, Mr. Campbell sailed as a marine engineer in various shipping companies, ultimately leaving the sea about eight years ago.
He then joined the firm of Messrs. Campbell & Isherwood, Ltd., as Outside Manager, and handled this part of the business in a very capable manner for five years.
During the absence abroad of the Superintendent Engineer of the Blue Star Line he was approached and accepted temporarily this position, and later accepted the position permanently, which he held at the time of his decease.
He was elected a Member of the Liverpool Engineering Society on the 13th January, 1915
