1881 Charles Dreyfus 32, doctor of philosophy, following the study of chemistry, manufacturing chemist, lived in Chorlton on Medlock, with Hedwig Dreyfus 22[1]

1891 Charles Dreyfus 42, chemical manufacturer, employer, lived with his brother-in-law, Salis Simon 51, a shipping merchant, in Chorlton on Medlock, and his family, with Hedwig Dreyfus 32, and Margerite Dreyfus 1[2]

1901 Charles Dreyfus 52, Managing director, aniline dye works, lived in Didsbury[3]
