CHARLES AKRILL died at Edgbaston, near Birmingham, in June 1907, at the age of sixty-eight years. In 1878 he purchased the Golds Green Iron Foundry at West Bromwich, and achieved a reputation for the manufacture of chilled and grain rolls. He became a member of the Town Council in 1885, and held the office of Mayor in 1892 and 1893.
He was elected a member of the Iron and Steel Institute in 1881, and took an active part in the work of the Reception Committee at the Birmingham meeting of 1895.
