Cefn Viaduct

near Cefn Mawr (Newbridge), Flintshire

1848 Cefn Viaduct was designed by Henry Robertson and built by the contractor Thomas Brassey. It carried the Shrewsbury to Chester railway across the River Dee, on 19 arches. Its total length is around 500 yards, with a height above the river of 147 feet.
