CEDRIC VAUGHAN, J.P., born in 1841, died at Millom, Cumberland, on the 18th February, 1911. On leaving Edinburgh University he became an articled pupil to Robert Stephenson, Past-President, and subsequently served with the Midland Railway Company as Locomotive Superintendent of the Derby section.
In 1872 he became Manager of the Hodbarrow Mines, being appointed in 1884 Managing Director, and in 1907 Chairman of the Hodbarrow Mining Company, a position which he held until his death.
Mr. Vaughan was elected a Member of The Institution on the 4th December, 1906.
