Maschinenfabrik Carl Flohr of Berlin

1888 Took over Siegelschen Maschinenfabrik.
1900 Supplied an unusual overhead travelling crane to serve one of the machine halls at the 1900 Paris Exposition. Its horizontal lattice girder bridge beam was supplemented by a superimposed lattice arch. The bridge was supported by splayed lattice girder legs, with bogies running along rails set at ground level.[1]
1951 Taken over by the Otis Elevator Co, and became Flohr-Otis.
Carl Flohr himself was born in Harsum in 1850 and died in Potsdam-Babelsberg in 1927.
