1966 The MD of Butterley Engineering was appointed to the board of Butterley Co[2]

1968 Butterley Engineering included foundries, and Codnor Park works[3]

1968 Wiles Group bought the brick-making and engineering business, Butterley Co of Derby[4]. The engineering part of the business was put into Wiles' Northern Amalgamated Industries group[5]

1969 The company had received orders for bridges for British Rail, overhead sign gantries for motorways, and overhead cranes for an aluminium smelter[6]

1969 Oxley Engineering Co acquired Butterley Engineering from Hanson Trust[7]

1971 Kent Castings (Gillingham) Ltd, having acquired Oxley Engineering, changed its name to Butterley Engineering Industries Ltd[8]

1971 Crittall-Hope, another Slater Walker subsidiary, was injected into Butterley and the group's name was changed to Crittall-Hope Engineering[9]

1973 Merged with another crane maker, Adamson Alliance; the two companies supplied 38 cranes to British Steel's Anchor Works at Scunthorpe[10]

1974 Norcros acquired Butterley Engineering[11] as part of Crittall-Hope Engineering.

1986 Norcros merged its Butterley Engineering subsidiary with John Smith (Keighley); the merged company traded as Butterley Engineering[12]

1988 Norcros sold Butterley Engineering to Haden MacLellan Holdings[13]
