Bloch Brothers

Established by Sir Maurice and Joseph Bloch, Bloch Bros was a firm of whisky blenders and brokers who acquired three distilleries during depressed trading conditions: Scotia (later renamed Glen Scotia) in Campbeltown and Scapa distillery in Orkney. Glengyle, another Campbeltown distillery, was acquired but not brought back into production
1941 The business was incorporated as Bloch Bros (Distillers) Limited. The company produced the "Ambassador" blend, which was very successful in the American market
1954 The company and its assets were sold to Hiram Walker
2009 The company, by now dormant, went into liquidation and was dissolved the following year
