BL Components

1978 BL Cars was split into 3 parts, of which BL Components was to be based on the SU-Butec activity[1] and the foundries. Also included Pressed Steel Fisher car body factories and Vanden Plas. Locations were Cowley, Swindon, Llanelli, Castle Bromwich and Dunstable.

By 1980 BL Components was one of the main subsidiaries of BL but Unipart was also mentioned as a success; 40,000 people worked for BL Components[2]
