1913 Astra AB was founded in Södertälje, Sweden, by 400 doctors and apothecaries.

1995 Acquired Fisons's Research and Development facilities at Loughborough and Rochester, New York, with their product pipelines.

1999 Astra merged with Zeneca Group to form AstraZeneca plc, with its headquarters in London.
