Association of Municipal and Sanitary Engineers and Surveyors

of Council Chamber, Moor Street, Birmingham.

The object of this Association are the promotion and interchange among its members of that species of knowledge and pratice which falls within the department of an engineer or surveyor engaged in the discharge of the duties imposed by the Public Health, Local Government, and other Sanitnry Acts: the promotion of the professional interests of the members, and the general promotion of the object of sanitary science. 1883 Annual meeting held in Oxford

1884 Annual meeting in Newcastle upon Tyne. W. H. White retired from the presidency and was succeeded by W. B. Lawes of Newcastle; the Association was broadened to include membership from Scotland and Ireland.
