Associated Semiconductor Manufacturers
1962 Formation of Associated Semiconductor Manufacturers by Mullard (the valve making arm of Philips) and GEC to combine the semiconductor (ie transistor) development and production facilities of the 2 companies; Mullard owned two-thirds of the company[1]
1967 The company was quite late in entering the market for micro-circuits. Announced development of EECL integrated circuits under the Mullard brand which would be made by Westinghouse Corporation in USA. ASM had factory at Southampton making DTL and TTL circuits[2]
1969 GEC pulled out of the company[3]
