Apprenticed in his father's engineering business in Paignton

1909 Married in Brighton to Louisa Ellen Quinnell

1911 Living at Hillview, Clarendon Road, Sevenoaks, Kent: Arthur Ivon Toby (age 26 born Exeter), Automobile Engineer (Manager Of Business). With his wife Louisa Ellen Toby (age 19 born Sevenoaks). Also his mother-in-law Ellen Quinnell (age 50 born Shortlet, Suffolk), Widow. One servant.[1]
