ARTHUR ERIC DEVEY, whose tragic death at the early age of 29 years occurred as the result of a motor-cycle accident at Sale, Manchester, on 18th October 1932, was entering upon a particularly promising career.

He had rendered valuable service to the Institution in the capacity of Honorary Secretary of the Graduates' Section of the North Western Branch during the years 1928 to 1931. In conjunction with Mr. B. He later joined the Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Company, Manchester, where he was engaged upon turbine research work.

Mr. Devey became a Student of the Institution in 1924 and was elected an Associate Member in 1931.
