John Stanhope Collings Wells, to his son, Russell Primrose Wells, to devolve as heirlooms.'[5]

'Mr. Arthur Collings Wells, of Brands House, High Wycombe, Bucks, and of Midland Road, St. Pancras, W.C, son of the late Mr. Joseph Wells, of Woodhouse, Little Waltham. a nephew the late Mr. Henry Wells, and a cousin of Mr. Clement Wells, of Writtle, a director of Chelmsford Brewery (Wells and Perry) Ltd., who died on May 11, aged 64, left estate of the gross value £82,327, with net personalty £68.034. The testator left: The medals (including the V.C. and the D.S.0.), of his late son, Lieut.-Colonel John Stanhope Collings Wells, to his son, Russell Primrose Wells, to devolve as heirlooms. £500 for charitable objects in which he was interested, or gifts to persons (including gifts to servants additional to those mentioned) as his wife may think fit, any part not so distributed forming part his residuary estate. £50 to his wife for distribution amongst in or outdoor domestic servants at her discretion. £50 to his business manager, Ernest John Lowe. One month's wages to each clerk, traveller, foreman, or warehouseman, five years' service, not specifically mentioned.'[6]
