Sir ARTHUR CHARLES LECAS, Bart., born on the 22nd May, 1853, died in London on the 14th June, 1915.
He was a member of the firm of Lucas Brothers, Lucas and Aird, and John Aird and Company, engineering contractors, and was actively associated with his partners in the many important contracts carried out by them, notably London underground railways and docks, Hull and Barnsley railway, and the Assuan Dam.
He was a director of the Hull and Barnsley Railway Company and other undertakings, and was a major in the Engineer and Railway Staff Corps.
Sir Arthur Lucas was elected an Associate on the 2nd December, 1879.
