1937 Steel manufacturers. "Balfalloy" Steel Products. "Capital" Steel Products. "Griffin" Steel Products. [1]

1950 Public company floated[2].

1961 High grade steel manufacturers and processors and small tool makers. [3]

1961 Balfour and Darwins was formed by merging Arthur Balfour and Darwins Group of Sheffield. About 75 percent of the products were similar[4]. Initially a private company, by September was publically quoted.


1967 One of the larger makers of high speed and tool steels not subject to nationalisation[5]
