1908 The Arbroath Electric Light and Power Company Limited, Brothock Bank House, Arbroath, was registered as a private company, with capital of £30,000, to carry on the business of an electric light, heat, and power supply company, and to undertake the lighting by electricity, gas, or other illuminant, of towns, streets, etc.[1]

1946 Arbroath Town Council decided to sell the undertaking to the Grampian Electricity Supply Co, which was a subsidiary of the Scottish Power Co.[2]
