1964 John Andrews formed Andrews Industrial Equipment to market US-made heaters and steam cleaners. Started to hire-out heaters which became Andrews Heat for Hire.
By 1969 Andrews Industrial Equipment had depots in Wolverhampton, London, Glasgow, Nottingham. In order to keep the business occupied during the summer months, the company started offering portable air conditioning units for hire, which became Andrews Air Conditioning for Hire.
1970 New division established for installing fixed air conditioning
1987 John Andrews decided to retire. Andrews Industrial Equipment was acquired by the Braithwaite Group. John Andrews remained in the business for 2 years to assist the new CEO.
1989 Braithwaites acquired Sykes Pumps and merged the two companies as Andrews Sykes Hire Ltd.
2000 Introduced chillers and air handling equipment
2005 Andrews Sykes introduced packaged boilers
