1909 Obituary [1]
ANDREW SIMPSON M'CLELLAND died on March 19, 1909, at his residence, Keillour, Methven, Perthshire, at the age of eighty-three.
He was the youngest son of the late James M'Clelland. As senior partner of M'Clelland, Son & Co., M'Clelland, Mackinnon & Blyth, and latterly of M'Clelland, Ker & Co., he acquired a large and varied business experience.
He became specially identified with the iron, coal, and engineering industries of the country. For many years he acted as director of the Steel Company of Scotland, the Coltness Iron Company, the Dalmellington Iron Company, the Clydebank Engineering & Shipbuilding Company, James Dunlop & Co., and kindred companies. Two or three years ago he virtually retired from business owing to the state of his health.
He was elected a member of the Iron and Steel Institute in 1871.
