1760s Alfred Ridge & Sons were established suppliers of wood boring tools to the Royal Navy.

1932 Alfred Ridge and Sons was bought by John J. Jewitt.[1]

1936 The company was put into voluntary liquidation; W L Ridge was chairman[2]

WWII Supplied mine detectors for the D-Day landings.
