1901 Living in Coventry, John Noble 42, Esther Noble 35, Alfred Noble 18, clerk, Noble 14, Harold Noble 10, Frank Noble 8[2]

1902 Resigned from the railway

Apprenticed at Alfred Herbert, Coventry.

Presumably set up Noble Automobile Syndicate

1911 Living at 2 Highbury Place, Abbotts Lane, Coventry: John Alfred Noble (age 52 born Coventry), an Accountant at the Corporation Gas Works. With his wife (married 29 years with four children) Esther Hannah Noble (age 46 born Coventry) and their children Alfred Harry Noble (age 28 born Coventry), a Motor Cycle Manufacturer and Employer; John Harold Noble (age 22 born Coventry), a Draughtsman at the Gas Works; and Frank Noble (age 17 born Coventry), a Draughtsman at a Motor Manufacturer. 1912 Set up Alfred Noble and Co making a motorcycle, living in Hill Street[4]

1912 A. H. Noble joined the Chief Engineer's department of the GWR as a clerk (is this the same person?)[5]

1913-14 Returned to work for the LNWR.[6]

1920 Licensed victualler (sic) when he joined the City of London Lodge; he was living in Lambeth[7]
