Alfred George Hackett (c1880-1974) of Accles and Pollock and later Alfred Bird and Sons
1910. Lieut. John Wilfred Seddon designed a tandem triplane with A. G. Hackett.
1911 Living at 31 St Matthews Road, Smethwick: Alfred George Hackett (age 31 born Smethwick), Mechanical Engineering Draughtsman - Aeroplane Works. With his wife Annie Hackett (age 33 born Smethwick) and their three children; Winnie Hackett (age 4 born Smethwick); Daisy Hackett (age 10 months born Smethwick) and her twin Marjorie Hackett (age 10 months born Smethwick). Also his father-in-law and his sister-in-law.[1]
1957 Died. 'The death has occurred of Mr. Alfred George Hackett. who was a younger brother of Mr. Walter Hackett of Accles and Pollock. Ltd., of Oldbury. He was 77. A consultant engineer, Mr. Hackett was at Accles and Pollock before joining Alfred Bird and Sons, Ltd. For the last 20 years had been in business on his own. He played cricket until he was 70. Mr. Hackett. who had been living in an Edgbaston hotel since the death of his wife leaves two daughters.'[2]
In 1960 Walter Hackett, recently retired chairman of Accles and Pollock is pictured with John Wilfrid Seddon and the model of the Mayfly. He is described as the engineer who carried out the main build.[3] This was Walter William Hackett and his brother was Alfred George Hackett
