ALEXANDER FREW, born in Glasgow on the 18th December, 1847, died in that city on the 29th November, 1910.
On leaving Glasgow University, he was apprenticed to the late Mr. Thomas Kyle, and subsequently with Messrs. Kyle and Frew, becoming a partner in the firm on the death of his father, the late Mr. John Frew, in 1869.
He acted as Engineer and Surveyor to a number of local authorities, for whom he carried out water-supply and sewerage schemes, and to various landowners, as well as being concerned in important arbitration and parliamentary work.
Mr. Frew was elected an Associate Member of The Institution on the 1st December, 1896.
