1862 Advert: 'VALUABLE STEAM-ENGINE, LATHES, AND MACHINERY, EDGAR-STREET, SOOTLAND-ROAD, LIVERPOOL. By Mr. BRANCH, Monday next, the 10th instant, at Eleven o’clock, on the Premises, No. 16, Edgar-street, Scotland-road, Liverpool, The valuable MACHINERY, the property of Mr. Alexander Cotter, Engineer and Millwright, who is declining business.
The Machinery, &c., includes a powerful 10 1/2-inch screw-cutting lathe, made by Walker, of Manchester, twelve months ago, with counter shaft, reversing pulleys, and gearing for screw-cutting, 19 feet bed, with break and back sliding motion, a most improved vertical drilling machine, by Walker, also with moveable table and compound motion, a 5-horse power direct acting steam-engine, W Threlfall, also of Manchester, and cylindrical 8-horse boiler, and other new lathes in connection, with vices, anvils, slide rests, bellows iron tank, working benches, and other effects connected with the trade.
