Elephant Brand of 50 Ruchill Street, Maryhill, Glasgow.

1854 Company established.

1872 Additional premises were erected for the manufacture of white lead by the old Dutch process and lead smelting and red lead furnaces were built.

1897 The company was registered on 31 May, to take over the business of the firm of the same name, lead rollers and smelters. [1]

1914 Lead and colour manufacturers. Originating as sheet lead rollers and lead pipe makers, the firm extended their business to paint grinding and colour making. [2]

Became part of Goodlass, Wall and Lead Industries
