"ALBERT JOHN ANIDO, B.Sc., was born in 1888, and received his general education at the Victoria College, Jersey. After serving his apprenticeship with Messrs. W. H. Allen, Sons and Company, Ltd., of Bedford, from 1904 to 1907, he took a three years' course at the City and Guilds Engineering College, South Kensington, where he obtained the Diploma and Associateship and graduated B.Sc. with honours in engineering (London).
From 1911 to 1914 he was engaged in training students in engineering subjects, but on the outbreak of war he enlisted in the Royal Engineers and eventually rose to the rank of major. In 1921 he resumed his duties as an engineering tutor and continued in this work until 1939 when he joined the research and development staff of Messrs. Stewarts and Lloyds as a structural designer. Two years later, however, he rejoined the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve and was subsequently granted the rank of flight-lieutenant. Mr. Anido, whose death occurred on 22nd January 1949, was elected an Associate Member of the Institution in 1940. He was also an Associate Member of the Institution of Electrical Engineers."
