Albert Charles Hills (1864-1952) of Hills Brothers and BSA

1864 February 2nd. Born in Hackney the son of Albert John Hills, a Commercial Traveller.

Ed.: privately and City of London College.

1895 June 15th. Married at Lewisham to Lillian Julia Emma Morris

1906 Established his own garage to distribute Martini cars - see Hills-Martini

1911 Living at 6 St Austell Road, Lewisham: Albert Charles Hills (age 47 born Hackney, London), Motor Engineer and Agent - Employer. With his wife Lillian Julia Emma Hills (age 42 born Lewes) and their four children; Gladys Osmond Hills (age 14 born Birmingham); Bence Arthur Charles Hills (age 9 born Birmingham); Vera Lillian Hills (age 8 born Birmingham); and Nevell Morris Hills (age 4 born Blackheath). One servant.[1]

1934 Late, Man. Dir. Hills and Hills, Ltd., export agents (automobiles, etc.). 1900/3 Man. Goodyear Tyres (England); 1903/4 Man. E. W. Hart, Euston Road, N.W.; 1904/10 Man. Dir. Hills-Martini, Ltd. (Martini Cars); 1910/16 Man. "B.S.A." cars, Birmingham; 1916/23 Man. Eastern dept. Tozer Kemsley & Millbourn, Ltd., auto. exporters (three times round the world); 1923/5 Receiver and Man. for Mercantile Bank of India of T. R. Pratt (Calcutta), Ltd.; author (1916) of " Confound their Politics."

1952 July 30th. Died, of 24 Waldemar Avenue Mansions, Fulham. Probate to Bruce Arthur Charles Hills, company director.
