The Airbrush was invented in America:

1879 Abner Peel invented the paint distributor.

1890 Charles Lawrence Burdick received a patent on his first double action airbrush.

1892 Burdick invented the internal mix double action airbrush.

1893 Company founded. Burdick moved to England and started his own airbrush company - the Fountain Brush Co

1900 Became public company. The name was changed to the Aerograph Co.

1929 Listed Exhibitor - British Industries Fair. Manufacturers of air Brushes, Spray Painting Plant and Air Compressors for Photographers, Lithographers, Printers and Fancy Goods Manufacturers. "The working exhibit will include a new hand-operated Outfit at a very low price". (Stand No. R.102) [1]

1930 Aerograph Spraying Co, manufacturers, of Shepherdess Walk, London, was declared bankrupt[2]

By 1933 was offering De Vilbiss spraying equipment

1937 Manufacturers of spray painting and finishing equipment. "De Vilbiss" Spraying Plant. [3]
